Max Scherzer named to MLB Team of the Month for June

It was announced earlier today that Washington Nationals right-handed pitcher, Max Scherzer, was named the National League’s representative for the MLB Team of the Month.

Scherzer was also just elected to his seventh consecutive All-Star Game and has been awarded with three Cy Young honors, winning one with the Detroit Tigers in 2015 and with the Nationals in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Statistically, the Nationals ace logged 45 innings in the month of June, while throwing for 68 strikeouts, surrendering five earned runs, and having an ERA of 1.00. While putting up ridiculous numbers, Scherzer won all six games that he started in the month of June. In addition, the 34-year-old had gave opponents a batting average of just .156, while having a 0.67 WHIP this past month.

This season, Scherzer is currently third in ERA in all of baseball (2.43), while leading the league in strikeouts with 170 punch outs.

Scherzer definitely deserves this award due to his remarkable statistics and continuously dominating on the mound.
