Maryland Falls at Ohio State

Maryland lost at Ohio State tonight 91-69. The loss drops the Terps to 14-5 overall and 3-3 in the conference. The game followed a familiar formula for the depleted Terps, as they started strong, taking a 22-15 lead after 10 minutes. They then lost all composure on offense and all discipline on defense, allowing OSU to close the game on a 76-47 run from that point on.

-OSU outshot UMD 56%-37% from the floor, including 58%-36% from 3.

-Darryl Morsell Continued his poor performance in conference play, going 0-7 from the field while missing 4 of his 8 free throws.

-On 3s from players other than Cowan and Huerter, the Terps shot 1-for-10.

-Anthony Cowan had 12 points, which has become sub-par for him this year. He likely only had that many points because he shot the ball 13 times from the field, only making 3.

-Kevin Huerter had the most productive night, shooting 40% and making 4 3-pointers for 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.

-Michael Cekovsky had the best night of his career, going 7-12 with 18 points and 5 rebounds.

-The Terps were depleted in that Dion Wiley couldn’t go due to a concussion. he hopes to return for their next game.

Maryland has a quirky schedule from here on out. They play 12 more games, and starting with their Monday tilt at Michigan, every matchup alternates between home and away. Maryland returns to action on Monday at 6:30pm in Ann Arbor on Fox Sports 1.
