Machado injury update: Updated
Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado has been out all season still recovering from the same knee injury that ended his season last season. The Orioles finally has good news regarding his injury as he has been cleared to begin running sprints on Monday, according to Roch Kobatko.
Machado has already been taking batting practice and seems very close to begin simulated games and a rehab assignment. My prediction is that Machado is still about three weeks away from returning to the Orioles. The Orioles have missed Machado’s bat and glove this season.
UPDATE: Machado did run today and did sprints, all reports are that it went well. Should be doing extended spring training games soon.
Here is a tweet from Kubatko about Machado.
Manny Machado got 6 at-bats today vs Johan Santana in simulated game. Went very well. Cleared to run sprints Monday #Orioles
