Lomachenko Dominates Crolla In Mandatory Title Defense
Vasyl Lomachenko was expecting his next fight to be against newly crowned IBF champion Richard Commey but that was derailed after Commey broke his hand. Enter stage left the mandatory challenger Anthony Crolla.
While the back story on Crolla is incredibly inspiring and you can’t help but like the guy one had to question if he had a shot against Vasyl. Yes Crolla is a former champion and has e massed 36 wins in his career but Lomachenko is a different animal. Precise and poised, a brilliant striker with power in both hands Last night this story tale fable unfolded and Crolla learned the hard way why Vasyl is considered by many the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Personally I reserve that tag for Terrance Crawford but Vasyl is in the discussion.
From the opening bell to the final ko punch this fight was all Vasyl. Lomachenko was pinpoint in his accuracy and landed everything and anything he wanted. Stinging jabs and flurries of punches that battered the face of Crolla. Loma danced in and out striking and popping out back in and landing shots again it was a proverbial boxing clinic by Vasyl. Crolla never did any damage and was clearly in over his head. I don’t care what anybody say’s he appeared to be worried from the start almost like he knew he couldn’t win without a miracle.
Lomachenko almost got the TKO win in round two but the ref called it a standing 8 count and the fight went on much to the surprise of Vasyl. A fourth round KO left nothing to the decision of the ref or the judges and the fight was clearly over. Loma dominated this from start to finish and easy win and little more than a tune up fight.
Winner Vasyl Lomachenko KO 4th round
