Lehigh Defeats Navy, 15-8, in Men’s LAX

Despite holding a 5-4 advantage at halftime, the Navy Midshipmen fell to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks, 15-8, in men’s lacrosse Saturday afternoon in Annapolis.

The loss drops Navy’s season record to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the Patriot League action. The 17th-ranked Mountain Hawks improve to 6-3 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.

Leading Lehigh on offense was senior attackman, Lucas Spence, who had six points on four goals and two assists. Tristan Rai added four points with two goals and two assists. Conor Gaffnes won 17 of 26 faceoffs taken for the Mountain Hawks, while James Spence made 17 saves in goal.

Navy’s Ryan Wade extended his point-scoring streak to 32 games with three goals and one assist. Jack Sweeney had two goals for the Midshipmen, while Christian Daniel and Greyson Torain both added one goal and one assist to the Mids’ total. Nick Barry only won 8 of the 23 faceoffs he took for Navy. Ryan Kern recorded ten saves but 15 goals-against.

Up next for Lehigh will be Boston University on March 30th. Navy travels to Worcester, MA to face Holy Cross next Saturday. (A complete Navy schedule can be found here.)
