LAX Preview: Navy (4-2) at Loyola Maryland (4-2)

The Navy Midshipmen head to Baltimore on Saturday afternoon to take on the ninth-ranked Loyola Maryland Greyhounds at Ridley Athletic Complex at 1:00 pm ET. With identical overall records of 4-2, Navy’s men’s lacrosse team is 2-0 this year in Patriot League action while Loyola is 1-0 in conference play.

Last weekend, in their first road game of the season, the Midshipmen defeated Lafayette, 12-7. Meanwhile, the Greyhounds suffered their second loss of 2018 when they fell, 12-7, to fifth-ranked Duke on Saturday.

Leading Navy’s offense will be senior midfielder Ryan Wade who currently holds the nation’s 11th-longest point-scoring streak at 30 games. Christian Daniel, sophomore attackman, is working on the nation’s ninth-longest goal-scoring streak with 39 goals in his last 17 matches. Manning Navy’s goal will be Ryan Kern. The junior has 328 saves in his collegiate career, ranking 13th in the Naval Academy’s goalkeeping history.

Pat Spencer heads Loyola’s offense. The senior attackman has 40 points on 18 goals and 22 assists this season and is ranked second in the nation in points per game with a 6.67 average. Sophomore, Kevin Lindley, is second in the country in goals per game (4.17). The attackman has an impressive 25 goals for the Greyhounds this year. In goal for Loyola is Jacob Stover, a senior, whose 14.50 saves per game average is fifth-best in Div. 1 lacrosse.
