Lamar Jackson Wins AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Lamar Jackson was awarded the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award on the back of his prolific performance Week 1 in Miami.

In what was the first of a hopeful many award winning games this season for Jackson, he threw for 324 yards and 5 touchdowns. Both of which are career highs and came against the league’s second highest-paid secondary, according to Spotrac. The Dolphins are behind only the Ravens in secondary spending this season.

Jackson became the first quarterback in Ravens history, and the youngest in league history, to post a perfect 158.3 rating. Jackson’s 5 touchdowns nearly match his total of 6 from 7 regular season starts last season.

Jackson was humble, as always, crediting his performance to his teammates and quickly turned attention ahead to Sunday’s 1:00 home tilt against a winless Cardinals team. A home game Baltimore is hungry for.

M&T Bank will also welcome back former Ravens Terrell Suggs, Michael Crabtree and Maxx Williams in what could be another plus matchup against a defense that gave up 477 yards last week.
