Lamar Jackson and the Ravens Agree to Record Setting Deal

The Baltimore Ravens and Quarterback Lamar Jackson have agreed to a deal that will keep the 2019 unanimous MVP in Baltimore through at least 2027. It is being reported that the 5-year deal is worth $260 million with $185 million in total guarantees. Making Jackson the highest paid player in NFL history, topping recently signed Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The saga that was between Jackson and the Ravens that saw the quarterback publicly request a trade just a few weeks ago, seems like a distant memory as the two sides look to push forward into 2023. Jackson’s deal will give the Ravens cap space as they head into this weekends draft giving them enough money to sign their draft class, while also remaining in contention for a possible DeAndre Hopkins trade.

With a new deal in place Jackson will look to play much better then he had over the last two seasons, both of which were shortened due to injury. But with a new offensive coordinator in Todd Monken and a host of new receivers in Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor, Jackson and the Ravens hope he can return to his 2019 form.
