Joseph's bat starting to come around

Last week I wrote how impressed I was with Baltimore Orioles catcher Caleb Joesph’s defense.  Now it looks like his bat is finally starting to come around.  Remember in the minors Joseph was always a good hitter.  Joseph is a career .268 hitter in the minors and has 74 career home runs in the minors.

On Sunday, Joseph hit his first career home run and last night Joseph had his first career three-hit night, and another home run.  It is a good sign for the Orioles who are falling in love with Joseph’s great defense.  Anything Joseph provides offensively is a bonus for the Orioles but this has to be a great sign.  Remember Joseph is focusing on catching, hitting is coming second.

I have always been a fan of Joseph’s hard work and dedication.  I want him to be successful because you can tell that he cares about the game and has stayed in the Orioles organization for a very long time.  If he starts hitting consistently the Orioles lineup is that much better.

Here are Joseph’s minor league stats.
