Jonas Siegenthaler to Make His NHL Debut Tonight against Columbus Blue Jackets

Jonas Siegenthaler a 21 year-old Swiss defensemen will make his Washington Capitals debut tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets due to John Carlson being hurt. Siegenthaler was a second-round draft pick in 2015, and had spent the last two season playing for the Hershey Bears and ZSC Lions in the NLA (Switzerland’s professional league).

Last year Siegenthaler played 75 games in Hershey putting up 12 points (6 goals, 6 assist).

Scouts have pointed out Siegenthaler has great skating abilities; and makes smart plays. Scouts have also said he’s an accurate shooter, but has a poor release and lacks power.

Siegenthaler also isn’t afraid to hit and throw his big body out being listed at 6’2 184 pounds. Congrats Jonas on your first NHL game tonight welcome to the show!
