Joe Nahas Wins NJCAA Pitcher Of The Week Honors

The NJCAA awarded Chesapeake College’s Joe Nahas the pitcher of the week award (March 5-11). Joe threw a complete game against the River hawks of Anne Arundel Community College. AACC managed only three hits off Joe on the day. Other than those three hits, no other batter put the ball in play.

Nahas did not need his Skipjacks defense on the day. Every out recorded was with the right arm of Nahas as he struck out 21 batters. The final line for the Skipjacks pitcher was 7 IP, 3 H, 3 R, ER, BB, & 21 SO. Those 21 k’s makes Nahas the leader in strikeouts per game in NJCAA at 19.23 a contest.

This year Chesapeake has started strong with a record of 14-3 and 3-0 in the conference. The Skipjack’s offense has been getting it done with a batting average of .391, 174 runs scored and 16 homeruns. The Skipjacks hope to continue their winning ways with a double header Saturday at home against CCBC Essex.
