Jamal Lewis to be honored

Former Baltimore Ravens running back Jamal Lewis will be inducted into the Ravens Ring of Honor this season. Lewis has always said that he was a Raven for life, despite playing for the Cleveland Browns late in his career. His induction will take place Thursday, September 27th against the Browns. Lewis spent seven seasons with the Ravens and was a member of the Ravens Super Bowl team.

The best season for Lewis was in 2003 when he had 2,006 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns. Lewis was a big and bruising running back that ran over and through defenders. While the Ravens passing offense was lackluster, Lewis helped move the chains.

Like most running backs, the pounding took a toll on Lewis and he lost speed by his late 20’s. When Lewis slowed down the Ravens cut him and he finished off his career with the Browns.

Video highlights of Lewis to come.
