Aho is riding a current hot streak of eleven points in his last eight games played. Center man Victor Rask tallied twice in the first game with the Capitals this season. Carolina D Noah Hanifin will make his first appearance in the NHL All-Star game.

The Washington Capitals have ascended to the top spot in the Metropolitan division due to their success at home. Washington goes for its for its eleventh straight victory at Capital One Arena Tonight. The Caps open a home-and-home series against Carolina tonight, the Hurricanes home portion will be Friday evening. John Carlson has played a big role in Washington’s five-game winning streak, as he has two goals and five assists in that stretch. Ovechkin will be appearing in his seventh NHL All-Star Game, Holtby his third coming up in Tampa Bay. Holtby is 12-4-0 with two shutouts, a 1.85 GAA and a .943 save percentage versus Carolina.
