Hoyas 8-0 But Are They An Elite Team?

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Hoyas of Georgetown keep it rolling over North Carolina A&T Saturday. Georgetown got 22 points and 15 boards out of Jessie Govan. Along with a strong 12 points from Jamorko Pickett to get the 83-74 win.

Although the Hoyas are 8-0 they entered Saturdays game playing teams with a combined 8-52 record against division 1 competition.

The Hoyas will have their first true test Saturday the 16th against the Orange of Syracuse. The Orange are 8-1 but coming off a bad loss to the Colgate Raiders, so they will be looking to bounce back against the Hoyas.

For Patrick Ewing being a first time head coach though this is a good start to his career. The former big man in the Hoyas system came back to turn around the struggling Hoyas and give some energy back to the fans that remember the days when the Hoyas were bring in recruits like Ewing and Allen Iverson.

We all are waiting to see how good this Ewing led Georgetown team can be and everyone will find out with the Big East schedule about to start.
