Hershey blanks Charlotte wins 3-0 at home.

Hershey swept the weekend to start out 2018 as Vitek Vanecek got his second shutout of the season stopping all 29 shots Charlotte would send his way. Only 1:25 into the game and Riley Barber would get his second goal of the weekend for Hershey giving the Bears a 1-0 lead. Before the period would end Nathan Walker and Riley Barber would start off a play that lead to Tyler Graovac’s fifth goal of the season and the Bears would head into first intermission 2-0.

Vanecek would keep Charlotte scoreless through the second period stopping 13 shots and the third period started off just like the second, with Hershey up 2-0.

During a power play at 9:32 in the third Travis Boyd would widen the gap adding another goal for Hershey to make it 3-0. Mathias Bau and Chris Bourque would get assists on the final goal of the game. This brings Hershey to a 17-16-1-3 record and the fans are hoping to see more of this awesome play for 2018. The Bears will be back at Giant Center on Wednesday night to go against the Springfield Thunderbirds. Game starts at 7 PM and will be giving HersheyPark Passes to all fans upon arrival.

It was also officially announced to the crowd on Saturday night that Hershey’s AHL All Star Chris Bourque would be heading to theĀ 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games to play for the USA Men’s Ice Hockey Team! Just one more impressive statistic to add to one of Hershey’s most beloved players that resulted in a standing ovation from the 8,460 fans in the crowd.
