Hershey beats Laval at home 6-3

The Hershey Bears took on the Laval Rockets on Giant Center ice for the first time in AHL history an came out on top with a 6-3 win.

Hershey scored first at with Mathias Bau getting his first goal since December twenty ninth to make it 1-0. Chris Bourque would find his 50th poing of the season with an assist on the play as well. Nikita Korostelev would tie the game at 15:42, but Garrett Mitchell would pull Hershey ahead again shortly after at 16:18 in the period. Laval wouldn’t be outdone though when Adam Cracknell would tie it up 2-2 at 18:11 only seconds into a Hershey penalty after a Jonas Siegenthaler high sticking minor.

In the second period Dustin Gazley would make it 3-2 earning his 10th goal of the season at 4:44 in the period. Jeremy Langlois would get his tenth assist of the season on the play. Shortly after at 7:04 Gazley would find the stick of an open Wayne Simpson for Hershey’s 4-2 lead. This would be Simson’s fourteenth goal of the season and Gazley’s twenty first assist. 

Laval would close the gap and come within one at 17:12 with Antoine Waked making it 4-3. At 6:05 in the third period Madison Bowey would make a sweet pass to the stick of Mathias Bau who would score his second goal of the night to make it 5-3. This would be Bowey’s sixth assist and eights point in only nine games with the Chocolate and White since being sent to Hershey less than a month ago. Hampus Gustafsson would give Hershey an assurance goal at 13:25 ending the game 6-3.

Hershey’s record moves to 29-33-4-5 and they were out shot 38-23.

Herhsye will be up north in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to take on their rivals the Penguins for a  7:05 puck drop.
