Hershey beats Hartford 2-1 on the road.

Madison Bowey took an opportunity to show Hershey fans what they were missing this season scoring two goals in one game and bringing his points total in Hershey to five in just as many games. The Hershey Bears found themselves on the road up north this afternoon with a 3pm start time in Hartford, CT.

It took until the middle period for a goal to be scored. A 6:30 in the second, Jeremy Langlois would find the stick of Madison Bowey, and a quick snapshot would result in Bowey’s first goal since joining Hershey for the last portion of the season. Nathan Walker would get his 100th career AHL point with a secondary assist on the play.

Less than two minutes later Hartford would tie the game at 8:23 with Cole Schneider’s fourteenth goal of the season, brining it to 1-1. Excitement would ensue just before the end of the second period when former Hershey Bear John Albert would get a chance on a breakaway pass. Vitek Vanecek would deny him his first shot, while being teeter tottered and turned out of his crease on his skates. Defenseman Connor Hobbs would lunge in front of the net, blocking a shot with his face, to keep the game tied going into intermission.

In the third period it would be Madison Bowey, with his second of the afternoon and game winning goal at 12:49. Wayne Simpson would get his twenty fifth goal of the season, and the game would end with Hershey winning 2-1.

Hartford outshot Hershey 27-22 and improved their record to 28-30-4-5. Hershey will host Hartford tomorrow for back to back matchups for a 5pm start at the Hersey Giant Center.
