Hershey Bears open up training camp with a new look

Head coach Spencer Carbery, Assistant coach and former Bear Patrick Wellar along with assistant coach Mike Eastwood started Hershey Bears training camp today for the Hershey Bears. Only 17 players in camp as the Washington Capitals still hold onto over 40 players. The Washington Capitals have a preseason game on Tuesday night. Bubble players will play in that game, making way for moves after the game to send more players down to AHL Hershey.

Washington Capitals contracted players in training camp have their first opportunity to learn what the AHL and NHL is like. This Bears team will have a lot of learning the league a game play to take into consideration. The positive thing for the Bears are the PTO guys. These players will be more of a show us what you got and do it right away type for Hershey and the young players. These players will earn their way onto the team and need to make an impact not only on the ice but show the young players how to act off the ice.

Let’s listen to Zack Fisch the voice of the Bears, Mason Mitchell, second year pro and Hershey Bears head coach Spencer Carbery from the Hershey Bears twitter:
