Henrik Lundqvist, signs a one year deal with the Washington Capitals.

Lundqvist, who was drafted 205th overall in the 2000 draft, has signed a one year deal with the Washington Capitals. He played his previous 15 seasons with the New York Rangers. He won the Vezina Trophy in 2012. He had 11 seasons with 30 wins and that was within the first 12 years in the league. He is the record holder for most wins by a European-born goaltender in the NHL.

During his rookie season, outstanding play got him the nickname “King Henrik”. In 2006, he also helped lead the Swedish men’s hockey team to their second Olympic gold medal.

In his career, he has played 887 games. He has won 459 of them, losing 310 and 96 went into overtime. He boasts a 2.43 goals against average, and a save percentage of .918.
