Frederick Keys Flirt with a No-Hitter

The Frederick Keys pitchers flirted with a no-hitter on Tuesday night. Brian Gonzalez started off the game going 7 innings, walking 2, and striking out 7. The Keys searching for their first combined no hitter since August of 2008 against the Salem Red Sox.

Elvis Araujo comes on to pitch for the 8th inning. Hoping to preserve the no hitter and takes it into the 9th but with one out in the last inning. Lynchburg’s Conner Capel broke up the no-hitter with a RBI double. Araujo minimized the damage, ending the game off the next two batters, keeping it to a 1 hit game.

Brian Gonzalez is a 6’ 3” 230 pound left handed pitcher from Miramar, Florida. He was drafted in the third round of 2014 draft, 90th overall by the Orioles. This start marks his 3rd straight quality start.

The offense backs up the pitching scoring 9 runs with many contributions on the offensive side. Randolph Gassaway specifically went 1-4 with 2 RBIs and his 1st home run of the year. The Keys get the first 1 hitter since April 23, 2017 and they get the 9-1 victory.
