Four Reasons Why the Ravens Will Make the Playoffs

Easy schedule

Of the remaining seven games on the schedule, the Ravens only play three teams with winning records and one of those teams is the Packers who are playing a backup quarterback. The Ravens also play three back up quarterbacks: Nick Hundley (Packers), Tom Savage (Texans), and Jacoby Brissett (Colts). The Ravens also finish the season with two straight home games which will help them make the playoffs because they tend to play better at home.

The defense

The offense is one of the worst offenses in the NFL so they will need to rely on the defense to carry the team. In games when they struggle to score points the defense can shut down the other team. The Ravens defense is very good against backup quarterbacks so if the offense can’t produce points the defense will have to play at it’s best. The Ravens defense has forced 13 interceptions, four of which were returned for touchdowns. The Ravens defense has also forced seven fumbles, creating turnovers has been very important for this defense.

Alex Collins

Alex Collins has been the Ravens breakout performer this season. When the offense can’t move the ball, Collins has been the only player making plays on the offense. Collins has 521 yards on 93 carries and averaging 5.6 yards per carry. The Ravens need him to carry the offense for the remainder of the season if they will have any chance at making the playoffs.

Jimmy Smith

Jimmy Smith has turned into one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL this season. He has shut down each teams number one wide receiver and has had two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. He has been one of the best players on defense this season and the Ravens will need him the rest of the season if they want to make the playoffs this season.
