Former Raven Eric Weddle lands 100th spot on NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2019

Last night, it was revealed that former Ravens safety, Eric Weddle, landed the 100th position on the annual NFL Top 100 Players list.

As you may know, specifically players vote on the Top 100 list each year. In 2018, the Ravens held just one player in the Top 100, which was now-Jets linebacker, C.J. Mosley, who previously appeared in 77 games across five seasons for Baltimore.

The newest former Raven to be selected into the Top 100, Eric Weddle, played in 48 games across three seasons with the Ravens, before beginning a new phase of his career with the Los Angeles Rams.

Before joining the Ravens, Weddle most notably began his career with the Los Angeles (formerly San Diego) Chargers, where he would be selected to two First-Team All-Pros at safety, including three Pro Bowl appearances.

The 34-year-old veteran safety has accumulated 29 career interceptions, including 19 with the Chargers and 10 with the Ravens. Weddle has logged an astounding 37 tackles for loss as a safety, while also having 22 career quarterback hits.

This past offseason, Weddle signed a two-year, $10.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams, that would put him under contract through his age 35 season. Along with the base salary, Weddle received a $1 million signing bonus, and it has been noted that $6.3 million of his contract has already been guaranteed.

The NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2019 will continue tonight, with players 90-81 on NFL Network at 8:00 p.m. ET.
