Five keys to success for the Washington Redskins in week five

After coming off a bye week the Washington Redskins (2-1) take on the New Orleans Saints (3-1) in New Orleans tonight at 8:15pm EST. Here’s this weeks five keys to success.

Penalties will always be the killer for teams, in the Redskins last game against the Green Bay Packers they were able to hold the penalties to 6-66, of course the goal is 0-0 but stuff happens but what we can control is the simple penalties that shouldn’t happen for example delay of game, false start, off sides etc. Penalties can set a team back and be very crucial at the end of the game.

The Redskins defense looked pretty good against the Packers they will need to be on top of their game tonight as the Saints are known to have one of the top scoring offenses in the league. I don’t think it will be a worry as the defense has been putting stops with no problems.

The Redskins can not allow any turnovers last game against the packers they were pretty good in only having one interception tonight they have to try for none.

Special teams can be a major part to the game by taking advantage of kick returns and punt returns but also knowing when to just take a knee. They must asses the return accurately and of course missed field goals cannot be a thing tonight.

Finally While the defense is putting out stops the offense needs to be taking every drive to the end zone as they cannot afford to get behind in the game. If the offense takes advantage of every drive they have a very solid chance of securing a big lead win.
