FALL AND WINTER SPORTS IN MARYLAND POSTPONED DUE TO COVID 19

The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) has announced fall and winter sports have been postponed until second semester due to the coronavirus pandemic. They are currently working on a plan to fit all sports into the second semester. Practice for fall sports was scheduled to begin on August 12th.

“The health and safety of our student participants, coaches, and officials is a primary concern for the return of interscholastic athletics and activities” the MPSSAA release said. The private schools in Maryland are also in a holding pattern. The Baltimore area schools are scheduled to start fall sports practice on September 12th and the DC area schools have postponed their fall sports to the spring.
