Extra innings and last night’s loss turns game 3 into rubber match: Orioles vs Rangers lineups 6/6/19

Delino DeShields’ single up the middle in the 12th inning off Paul Fry would drop Fry to 0-3, and the Orioles to a league worst 19-42.

The hit was DeShields’ fourth hit of the game. DeShields played a part in the only two runs of the game for the Texas Rangers, as he would also score on a hit by Elvis Andrus to give Texas its first lead of the game at 1-0.

The news was not all bad, as Orioles starter John Means went six solid innings, allowing just one run on four hits and striking out five Ranger batters.

Shawn Armstrong and Miguel Castro would both go a full inning each of scoreless baseball before Richard Bleier would come to the mound for two scoreless innings, where he gave up just two hits. The Orioles pitching was fantastic, along with the game-tying home run off the bat of Richie Martin.

Extra innings, and a game that would just run over into the early hours of Thursday morning on the East Coast turns tonight’s game into a series-clinching rubber match.

We have seen two polar opposite games so far in this series between the Orioles and Rangers. A 12-11 victory by the Orioles and a 2-1 loss by the O’s. You can not get much different then that.
