Fear not, D.C. United fans! Your team still is in position for home-field. D.C. United tied the New York Red Bulls 0-0 in New Jersey today, with both teams having something to play for as the season ends. Wayne Rooney’s final season continues, as does the rivalry. Given seeding, this will not be the last time these two meet this season either.

Bill Hamid continued the season with four consecutive shutouts, for the first time in team history. The goalie came through when he needed to, making two glorious saves. New York was aggressive, continuing their prominent attack, but failed to get anything going score-wise. However, New York completed their third-straight game without a score.

With 49 points and a 13-10-10 overall record, the Black-and-Red are aiming forthe fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. This means they will play the first game at home for the playoffs, with a more welcoming fanbase hungry for a playoff win. The Red Bulls have one fewer point, and as such finish fifth. D.C. and New York both are in control of their playoff destiny, with the playoffs starting October 19. Next Sunday, United plays Cincinnati at home, while New York plays Montreal Impact in Montreal. If United does not lose to Cincinnati, they will secure the fourth seed.
