Will David Perron Face a 10-Game Suspension
Tom Wilson and Ryan Reaves might have lead the story line with questionable plays, but the NHL has been quite and shy about David Perron breaking the rule of jumping over the boards during an altercation. After Wilson made a huge hit on Johnathan Marchessault several players went to Wilson, and Perron is seen jumping off the bench to approach Wilson.
This is a major violation of the NHL rulebook and is said in the rulebook results in a 10 game suspension.
So the biggest question is why isn’t the league doing anything about? Is it because he didn’t jump the boards and fought Wilson? Paul Bissonette was suspended in 2015 in a pre-season game when he jumped off the bench to fight Jordan Noland. The NHL failed the Capitals last night missing this call, and the missed penalty on Ryan Reaves cross-check on John Carlson.
David Perron clearly leaves the bench to attack Ovechkin. The NHL rulebook says it's an automatic suspension. Will the NHL have the guts to go through with it?#VegasBorn | #GoldenKnights | #ALLCAPS | #WSHvsVGK | #StanleyCup @FrankDangelo23 pic.twitter.com/AN72CjfFq9
