D.C. United wins third Straight

Audi Field was the sight for D.C. United’s third straight victory. They defeated the New England Revolution 2-0. With the win, D.C. now has 26 points, and New England is still at 28. This game also made history as for the first time ever, all three commentators on FS1 were female.

There were only two goals. The first was scored by Luciano Acosta in the 13th minute, which was his fourth since last Sunday, and this one got over the head of keeper Matt Turner. Things took a bad turn for the Revs as defender Scott Caldwell was shown a second yellow in the 73′. D.C. United then closed it out when substitute Zoltan Stieber scored in the 90′ to seal the three points for D.C. United.

Their next game is on Sunday August 26th on ESPN. They will be facing the New York Red Bulls at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ. The Red Bulls beat United in the first meeting, winning 1-0.
