D.C. United shuts out Montreal Impact 3-0

Despite Wayne Rooney’s absence from serving his suspension, D.C. United defeated the Montreal Impact 3-0 behind two goals from newcomer Ole Kamara as well as a tally from Paul Arriola. The win puts the Black and Red back in front of the New York Red Bulls into fourth place in the MLS Eastern Conference.

Kamara’s first goal came in the 20th minute. It came on a loose ball off a free kick to give D.C. United the 1-0 lead.

D.C. United doubled their lead in the 23rd minute with Paul Arriola’s sixth goal of the season.

Kamara added his third goal with the Black and Red in the 32nd minute rebounding a header from Fredric Brillant.

Bill Hamid got the win with four saves in another shutout effort.

D.C. United takes a brief break from MLS play but will return home to Audi Field this Wednesday for a home match against Club Puebla.
