D.C. United Recap: 7/14-7/17

D.C. United was in action twice last week for two games. The first was an international friendly at Audi Field on Wednesday and the second being an MLS contest against the Philadelphia Union. Let’s look at both games.

7/14 W 1-0

D.C. United won their international friendly against Alianza FC of the El Salvador Primera Division. The first half was scoreless. In the second half the Black and Red took the lead in the 71st minute when Massimo Ferrin found the back of the net. He weaved his way at the top of the box before his kick got deflected in.

7/17 at Philadelphia L 2-1

D.C. United fell to the Philadelphia Union on the road by a final of 2-1. Yamil Asad scored the lone goal for the Black and Red in the 51st minute for his second goal of the season. His goal was the game tying goal after the Union scored in the 11th minute from Sergio Santos. The Union took the lead in the 83rd minute with a goal from Kacper Przybylko.

D.C. United will head to Solider Field on Wednesday night to take on the Chicago Fire.
