D.C United and NYCFC play to scoreless draw

D.C. United drew a 0-0 draw against New York City FC in the 10th match of the MLS season. They got their second consecutive clean sheet and earned a point against a talented NYCFC team that had won their previous three games. Head coach Ben Olsen went with the same starting lineup from the win over the New York Red Bulls.

Chris Seitz started his third consecutive match in goal and had a clean sheet with the same center back trio of Joseph Mora, Donovan Pines, and Frederic Brillant. Seitz made some huge saves including a one on one opportunity that was denied in the 32nd minute. Overall he made four saves. The Black and Red continued their strong defense in the second half. This was all despite NYCFC having 70% possession.

D.C. United has earned four points in their last two matches and will look to carry the momentum into Saturday night’s home match against the New York Red Bulls from Audi Field. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
