D.C. United and New England Revolution Play to 1-1 Draw

D.C. United traveled up to Foxboro to take on the New England Revolution. In a game that the Black and Red was trailing late, it was a penalty kick from Wayne Rooney that salvaged at least a point. It was a point badly needed.

Combined with a 3-1 loss by the Philadelphia Union to the Portland Timbers, D.C. United is all by themselves atop the Eastern Conference. The Black and Red are 7-4-4 with 25 points.

The first half was scoreless but the hosts got on the board early in the second half in the 61st minute with a header from Juan Agudelo.

D.C. United was desperate for a point and in the 90th minute, who else but Wayne Rooney with a penalty kick for the equalizer.

D.C. United heads back to Audi Field for a home match this Wednesday at 8 p.m. against the Chicago Fire.
