D.C. United and Club Puebla play to 1-1 draw
D.C. United built on their huge 3-0 win over the weekend in Montreal with a 1-1 draw at Audi Field in their final friendly of the season. The game, unlike the other friendlies, featured members of the Black and Red’s A Team including Wayne Rooney, Luciano Acosta, and Joseph Mora.
Quncy Amarikwa gave D.C. United the 1-0 lead with a tap in after Leonardo Jara sent a cross into the box.
D.C. United continued to create more chances but couldn’t get anything in. 1-0 was the score at the half.
Club Puebla tied the game in the 75th minute off a corner kick. After taking the corner, the ball went to Diego Abella Callega, who put it past starting goalkeeper Chris Seitz.
D.C. United will have some time off with a two week international break. They’ll travel to Portland on Sunday September 15th for a 3:30 kickoff against the Timbers.
