Chesapeake Bayhawks Win Game; Clinch Playoff Berth

Last night, the Chesapeake Bayhawks hosted the Denver Outlaws, in Annapolis. Coming into this game, the Bayhawks lost two games in a row, after a seven-game winning streak. Looking to get back on track, they did just that with a 13-11 win.

The Bayhawks were dominate in the first half, with a score of 8-3. The final score was 13-11 as seven goals snuck past Bayhawks goalie Niko Amato in the fourth quarter.

Eight different Bayhawks contributed to the score; two of which were powerplays (Lyle Thompson in the second quarter, and Josh Byrne in the third). Matt Rees was named Mallary Carpet Defensive Player of the Game.

This win means that the Bayhawks clinched playoff berth for the first time since 2013 (ended up winning it all), and means that they will host the semi-final game on August 11.
