Caps Top Flyers 5-3

The Washington Capitals had a huge divisional win against there rivals the Philadelphia Flyers, Caps won five to two. The Capitals got off to a rough start trailing the Flyers in the first 2-0.

Braden Holtby was off to a slow start statistically letting in two goals off of nine shots. One goal included a Christian Djoos crashing into Holbty not letting him able to make a save.

The Caps bounced back later in the second scoring three straight goals. Chandler Stephenson scored the first two goals for the Caps within a 50 second time spand. The other goal came from a tip in when Lars Elle sauced a pass to Andrea Burakovsky that put the Caps up 3-2 after the second period.

Later in the third, TJ Oshie finally broke out of his 14-game goal drought since returning from an injury in December.   Evgeny Kuznetzov set up TJ Oshie on the Power play. Hopefully that goal gives Oshie the confidence he needs since he was a former 30-goal scorer last season.

Later Davonte Smith-Pelly went bar south on former Capital goalie Michal Neuvitth who was pulled after the goal giving the Caps a 5-2 lead. The lead was later a 5-3 game after Flyers rookie Travis Konecny made it a 5-3 game.

Later in the third Brandon Manning was upset that Alex Chiasson made a questionable hit on him that lead to a fight for Chiassons second fight of the year.

The Caps take action next against the Penguins in Pittsburgh on This Friday night
