Caps sign GM Brian MacLellan to a contract extension
The Washington Capitals have signed general manager Brian MacLellan to a contract extension.
MacLellan is in the fourth year of his four year deal when he was promoted from assistant GM to replace George McPhee. MacLellan and head coach Barry Trotz were hired at the same time in 2013 by owner Ted Leonsis and team President Dick Patrick. Since then they have won two presidents trophies, however have not won a Stanley Cup.
