Caps play the season finale against the Devils with pride on the line

The Washington Capitals are playing the New Jersey Devils, on fan appreciation night. The Caps are playing for pride, as they have been eliminated from post season contention. This is the final game of the season, so the team is looking to end the season on a high note. While the team is playing for pride, there were a few highlights from the last game to build off of.

Charlie Lindgren made a save with a bare hand and looked phenomenal. This is building his confidence for next season, which is extremely important. The team also signed a amateur goalie to a tryout and he is expected to be the backup tonight.

The team will look a lot different tonight as T.J. Oshie, and a few others have been ruled out due to injury. Due to this, the team has made a few call ups to Hershey, who is the AHL affiliate, and brought some guys up from the minors.

Vitek Vanachek who is the goaltender for the Devils, was the goaltender for the Caps last season, so this is a revenge game for him. He is out to prove that he was worth keeping around and is playing with a chip on his shoulder.
