Caps lose 7-1 to the Blackhawks
The Washington Capitals did not show up last night as they got crushed in Chicago 7-1 by the Chicago Blackhawks. The defense let poor Braden Holtby out to dry with a ton of odd man rushes and two on 0 that lead for a disastrous night.
Alex Ovechkin did not have a single shot all night and the a Caps where outshot 44-20. Passes were not going stick to stick, and it looked like the Caps did not want to play for Coach Barry Trotz on his special night of coaching his 1,500 game in the NHL.
Alan May said it best didn’t matter who was in net they where going to lose. The young Defensemen Christian Djoos and Madison Bowey both ended the night a -3 and could soon be a healthy scratch of the games trade for a more experienced defensemen with the trade deadline coming soon.
After a performance like this I would expect a six AM bag skate the next day, and some trades due to lack of performance in defense.
