The Caps jumped out to early leads in both Game 1 and Game 2, squandered both leads. The Caps started with a 1-0 lead in Columbus in game 3, however they quickly lost the lead in the first period. The Capitals on a goal by John Carlson would give them the lead before first intermission. The Caps could have left Panarin’s late third period goal shoot them in the foot. But nine minutes into the second overtime Lars Eller would end it, and give the Caps their first win of the series.
