Capitals vs. Senators Preview: February 26, 2019
The Washington Capitals will face the Ottawa Senators tonight at 7 pm inside Capital One Arena. This will conclude a two game home stand after Sunday’s victory against the Rangers.
At 35-21-7, the Caps’ record is identical to last season at this time, when they won the Stanley Cup. However, they still sit two points behind the Islanders for first place in the Metro Division. The Senators however are a different story at 22-35-5, dead last in the Atlantic Division. Last season, the Caps also hosted the Senators right after the trade deadline, and won the game in overtime 3-2/
The Capitals lead the season series against the Senators 2-0, with wins in Ottawa on Dec. 22 and 29. They look to complete the sweep tonight with their main core. Holtby will be goalie. The Sens in trading away Duchene, Dzingel, and Stone now have to rely on Thomas Chabot to lead the team.
