Capitals Vs. LA Kings Recap: February 11, 2019

The Washington Capitals beat the Los Angeles Kings by a score of 6-4 Monday. Statistically, Phoenix Copley would go on to make 29 saves, but it would simply be enough as the Kings scored in the first period.

The Capitals stand at 31-19-7 and are currently in second place in the Metropolitan division. On the other side, the Kings and stand at 23-28-5 and are in 7th place in the Pacific Division.

During the first period at four minutes and 50 seconds LA Kings Austin Wagner scored his 6th goal of the season to tie the score up 1 to 1. The Capitals first goal was scored by left winger and captain Alex Ovechkin, and it was assisted by Evegeny Kuznetzkov (37th assist of the season) and TJ Oshie ( 16th assist of the season) with three minutes and seven seconds in the beginning of the first period. After that Kings Tyler Toffoli scored his second goal of the season at 17 minutes and 20 seconds . To make the Also, during the first period Brett Connolly scored his 13 goal of the season at 15 minutes and 17 seconds left in the period. At the end of the first period the score was tied up 2 to 2. During the second period, Jakub Vrana scored his 17th goal at 13 minutes and 9 seconds. Christian Djoos scored his first goal of the season at 10 minutes and 31 seconds. Capitals Evgeny Kuznetkov scored his 17 goal of the season at 13 minutes. Towards the end Kings Oscar Frantberg scored a second goal at three minutes and 42 seconds. During the third period Evgeny Kuznetkov scored his second of the game at one minutes and 32 seconds. Lastly, Austin Wagner scored his second of the game at 10 minutes and 25 seconds.

With winning, the Capitals will head to Columbus to face the Blue Jackets tomorrow at Nationwide Arena.
