Capitals vs Flyers, another showdown in the city of brotherly love
Today, the Washington Capitals are playing the Philadelphia Flyers. This is the third game this week between the two teams. The last meeting was a back and forth game and this one promises to be more of the same. The keys to winning are more of the same. Let’s take a look at them.
First and foremost the defense needs to be more on point. The team gave up a few goals in the third bringing the score to within one goal for the Flyers. The Capitals need to tighten defense and not give up leads or try to blow leads.
Secondly, continue to have precision passing on power plays and work the puck around. This is important because the team can tire the penalty killers out. This allows for the Capitals to take advantage of missed defensive matchups.
Finally, keep winning the faceoff battles. This allows for keeping possesion of the puck and being able to dictate tempo. This allows for fast break opportunities and being able to enforce what they wanna do on the offensive zone.
