Capitals travel to Detroit, in Anthony Mantha’s first game against his old team

The Washington Capitals who are a banged up and injured team, are traveling to Detroit to face the Red Wings. This will be Anthony Mantha’s first game against his old team, since he was injured last season when the team faced Detroit. Washington has lost two straight games, after battling to take both into overtime, which gave them a point each game. Darcy Kuemper is expected to get the start in goal, and his performance in each of his last few games has been nothing short of outstanding. He definitely has a hot hand in goal and the team is riding that. Because of multiple injuries to the Caps team, with T.J. Oshie, John Carlson, Beck Malenstyn, and Connor Brown all being placed on injured reserve, the team has had to make some changes to the lines. The lines are being reported as Ovechkin-Kuznetsov-Sheary, line 2, Johansson-Strome-Mantha, line 3, McMichael-Eller-Protas, and line 4, is Snively-dowd-Hathaway. The defensive pairings have also been shuffled and are being reported as Orlov-Trevor Riemsdyk, Fehervary,-Jensen, and lastly Gustafsson-Irwin. With all the changes being added to the roster, a major question mark is, how will the team chemistry be with all the lineup changes.
