Capitals trade Stephenson to Vegas Knights

The Washington Capitals have traded Chandler Stephenson to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for a 2021 fifth round draft pick. The Capitals needed salary cap room and Stephson’s production has been down.

The Capitals have had trouble staying under the salary cap all season.

Stephenson has provided speed for the Caps and helped the Caps win the Stanley Cup in his rookie season. Stephenson has been a fourth line player for the Caps and penalty killer.
