Capitals sign Kennedy and Newbury

The Washington Capitals have signed forwards Tim Kennedy and Kristen Newbury to one-year, two-way contracts.  Both players have been in the Capitals organization before.  In fact, Kennedy was a sixth-round pick in the 2005 NHL draft by the Capitals.

Kennedy and Newbury will likely see most of their time playing for the Hershey Bears.  I can see Kennedy having a better chance at playing for the Capitals as he has more NHL experience even though he is four years younger than Newbury.

Here is the Capitals press release.
