Capitals Re-Sign Colby Williams

The Washington Capitals have re-signed defenseman Colby Williams to a one-year, two-way contract, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today. Williams’ contract will carry an average annual salary of $700,000 ($90,000 AHL).
Colby re-signing is a bit of a surprise coming off his ELC (Entry Level Contract) with 8 defense-man already, many thought he would go elsewhere. The Regina product, was injured for the most of last season, playing in only 36 games with only 10 assists last year.
This could be a show me year for Colby , whom has become a steady blueliner in 2016/17 and 17/18, with 9 defense now, I look for Washington/Hershey to do some deals for forwards.
