Capitals re-sign Center Travis Boyd and two AHL veteran forwards

The Washington Capitals have re-signed center Travis Boyd to a two year NHL contract. Boyd, played in eight games for the Capitals this past season after making his NHL debut against the San Jose Sharks back on December 4th. Travis recorded his first career point, a gorgeous assist against the Philadelphia Flyers on March 18th. Boyd recorded 47 points (15g, 32a) in 61 games with Hershey last season, which ranked second on the Bears.


The Washington Capitals also helped out the Hershey Bears today signing two AHL veteran centers. Former Wilke-Barre Scranton Penguin Jayson Megna and former Manitoba Moose star forward Michael Sgarbossa. The Capitals have signed both forwards, Megna and Sgarbossa, to identical one-year, $650,000 contracts.
