Capitals go to Canada for the first time this season for a Monday showdown with Ottawa

The Washington Capitals are traveling north of the border to face the Ottawa Senators. This is the second road game of the season for the Capitals. The Capitals have had a really good month going 3-0-2 in five games this season. Alex Ovechkin has five goals in as many games. Evgeny Kuznetsov is also on a five goal streak. Nic Dowd is injured and did not travel with the team meaning young guns Hendrix LaPierre and Connor McMichael should both be in the lineup. Both goaltenders have looked solid for most of the season. The Capitals are averaging 3.80 goals per game while Ottawa is averaging 2.00. The Capitals have also given up an average of 2.20 goals a game while Ottawa is slightly higher at 2.40. This is a big game for the Capitals.
