Bundy comes off injured list on good note, O’s use longball to top Diamondbacks 7-2: Recap 7/23/19
The Baltimore Orioles sent Dylan Bundy to the mound following a stint on the injured list, in an attempt to even this interleague series, and due to a solid start by Bundy and the Orioles offense, the Birds won 7-2.
Dylan Bundy made his first start since July 12, when he gave up seven runs in the first inning against Tampa Bay. This outing would be much different for Bundy, as he threw six innings, allowing just two runs and three walks.
Renato Nunez got the scoring started in the second, blasting his 24th home run on the season and his second in two games. This put the Birds up 1-0.

Anthony Santander followed with a two-run shot of his own, extending the Orioles’ lead to 3-0 in the second.

In the third inning, Bundy would allow his only two runs off a two-RBI single from pitcher Merrill Kelly that cut the Orioles’ lead to 3-2.
The Orioles would answer in the third, and they would do some damage. Renato Nunez picked up his second RBI of the night, singling home Trey Mancini to go up 4-2.
Later that inning, Dwight Smith Jr. would connect for his 12th home run, scoring three. This gave the Orioles the ultimate lead of 7-2.

After the second inning, Bundy would hold the Diamondbacks scoreless for the remainder of his outing. Bundy also struck out five, enough to net him over 100 strikeouts on the year, in which he leads the team at 102.
The bullpen relieved Bundy with three scoreless innings, including two hitless innings by Shawn Armstrong in the eighth and ninth.
Dylan Bundy moves to 5-11 with this win.
Our MSB Orioles Co-Players of the Game are Dylan Bundy and Renato Nunez. Bundy bounced back, after coming off the IL with a great start, and Nunez went 2-for-3 with a walk, driving in two runs, while scoring two himself to propel the offense.
The Orioles have the chance to win their second series in a row Wednesday in Arizona at 3:05 p.m. ET.
