Wizards:  Beal led with 20 points and 5 rebounds.  Gortat had 17 points and 7 rebounds.  Wall had 16 points and 16 assists.  Morris followed with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Bucks:  Giannis led the Bucks with 34 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.  Bledsoe had 21 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 1 block.  Middleton rounded out the top 3 with 20 points and 5 rebounds.

Game:

When I tuned in it was another relatively close game.  The score was 32-24 and generally stayed less than a 10 point differential the entire game.  When I started watching Beal had yet to make a shot.  He must have been waiting for me to find a workable live feed.  This may have been a slow start for him, but he shows out almost every game.  He still ended the game with 20 points, we’ve just become spoiled.  We really need to get a push going to get him to the AllStar game.

In terms of the Wizards, some notable players were Oubre, Wall, Morris, Gortat and Meeks.  Oubre had a nice alley oop and looked good on defense.  Morris was slamming and rebounding.  I like the twins and think Morris is a good fit with the Wizards.  Gortat is strong and steady.  It can be easy to overlook him but he always steps up, and in.  Meeks made 2 really nice 3s off the bench and Scott made a nice shot from an awkward spot on the baseline.  Those 3 shots were great examples of accuracy and precision.  You don’t need to play high minutes to be a good player and valuable teammate.

The Bucks came with a fire after the half.  You can tell that the Bucks are serious about making the playoffs.  I’m pretty sure if Giannis doesn’t get the AllStar votes he’s making it in under ‘Commissioner’s decision’.  The Bucks have a nice team here and Jason Kidd is doing a good job coaching them.

Giannis had 26 points after the 3rd but 13 of those came in the 3rd.  I don’t know what happened during halftime, but the Bucks decided that they weren’t going to lose in D.C.  Bledsoe was a constant and steady presence.  He was a great acquisition from the Suns.  Middleton was really active and his stat line shows that.  I also noticed some nice and accurate shooting from Snell.  I remember him from his rookie days on the Bulls and I’m glad he’s getting a better opportunity here and able to showcase some of his skills.

Altercation:  Dellavedova clotheslined Beal in the 4th and was ejected.

Next up:  The Jazz Wednesday at 7p.m. I’m a long time Ricky Rubio fan so I’m pumped for this game!
